WQB Mold Removal started the way most good local contracting outfits do: with a small crew that got tired of watching homeowners in Bloomington, MN get quoted twice for the same job by companies that vanished halfway through.
We staff our Bloomington crews with people who've handled crawl-space colonization, attic condensation mold, and post-flood contamination — not just cosmetic bathroom mildew.
Licensed, insured, and background-checked before they ever knock on your door, our team treats your home like it's the one they'd want worked on.
A lot of Bloomington, MN homeowners have already paid someone once for a job that didn't hold up, which is part of why we document every step with photos and lab data rather than asking you to take our word for it.
Our office staff handle scheduling and billing questions directly, so you're never stuck on hold with an answering service when you have a question about your job.
Here's what our technicians hear most often right before a homeowner finally picks up the phone.
If a room smells like a wet basement no matter how much you air it out, mold is the most likely culprit. Candles and air fresheners might mask it for an afternoon, but the smell almost always returns by the next day.
DIY drying with a box fan rarely reaches the moisture trapped inside wall cavities and subfloor. If a previous restoration job skipped moisture readings before closing the walls back up, hidden growth can sit undetected for months.
If symptoms clear up on vacation and come back the moment you're home in Bloomington, your indoor air quality deserves a look. Air quality testing can confirm or rule out mold as the cause before you spend money chasing the wrong culprit.
Discoloration around an HVAC vent frequently means moisture is condensing inside the ductwork itself. Don't assume a small visible patch means a small problem — the portion behind the drywall is often much larger.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Bloomington crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
When a burst pipe or roof failure floods a Bloomington property overnight, our on-call crew can be dispatched before the sun comes up. We also photograph the damage extensively on arrival, which helps considerably if you end up filing an insurance claim afterward.
Bathrooms, basements, attics, and crawl spaces each get treated with methods suited to that specific environment, not a one-size approach. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Bloomington tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
Retail spaces, offices, and multi-unit buildings in Bloomington, MN often need remediation scheduled around business hours to limit disruption. We're comfortable working evenings or weekends on commercial jobs when that's what keeps a Bloomington business running without interruption.
Buying a Bloomington home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Bloomington property.
Attic mold often traces back to poor roof ventilation or bathroom exhaust fans venting into the attic instead of outside. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
For Bloomington properties with chronic humidity issues, we design a long-term moisture control plan, not just a one-time fix. Some Bloomington, MN clients set up an annual moisture check with us, especially in older homes with a history of basement dampness.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
A quick phone conversation helps us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. We'll also walk the space with you so nothing gets signed off without your input.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
We keep a dedicated crew covering Bloomington, MN so response times don't balloon during peak humidity season.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
Our promise is simple: if the treated area shows regrowth tied to our workmanship within the warranty period, we return and correct it free of charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a Bloomington home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Word of mouth is still how most of our Bloomington, MN customers find us, which tells you something about how the last job usually goes.
If regrowth tied to our workmanship shows up within the warranty window, we come back to your Bloomington property and fix it at no additional cost.

Answers to what Bloomington homeowners ask us most.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Bloomington, MN service areas. Weekend and holiday calls are still answered by our on-call dispatcher rather than routed to voicemail.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. If we discover additional damage once we open a wall, we'll stop and get your approval before doing any extra work or adding any cost.
Our on-call crew handles active flooding, sewage backups, and sudden mold discovery around the clock, including nights and weekends. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
Testing typically takes a few business days, and you receive a written lab report with the results. Knowing the species matters because some, like Stachybotrys, call for stricter containment protocols than common surface mildew.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
For most localized jobs, containment keeps the rest of the home livable, though we may recommend staying elsewhere for extensive whole-house treatment. We'll always tell you honestly if we think you should stay elsewhere rather than downplay it to keep the job simpler on our end.
Our containment and air scrubbing protocols are designed to protect the rest of the household while work is underway. HEPA filtration during the job significantly reduces airborne spore counts outside the sealed work area.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Inspection availability sometimes shifts during peak humidity months when call volume runs higher across Bloomington, MN.
Remediation focuses on removing the active colony and correcting the moisture source so the environment no longer supports abnormal growth. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
DIY treatment can also mask a problem temporarily, which sometimes delays proper remediation until the issue has spread further. For small, non-porous surfaces a simple cleaning may be fine, but anything on drywall, wood, or carpet usually needs a professional look.
